Vapor Trace Recognition Using a Single Nonspecific Chemiresistor

چکیده
An application of spectral analysis to the transient response signals of ALD-fabricated conductometric sensors (chemiresistors) upon exposure to short vapor pulses is discussed. It is based on the representation of a response curve in the frequency domain, followed by the multi-dimensional Quadratic Discriminant Analysis (QDA) for analyte identification. Compared to the standard steady-state amplitude analysis, this technique does not depend on a short-term sensor drift, does not have limitations for the number of extracted features and has a strict physical validation. Effective recognition of some relatively simple combustible analytes (acetone, toluene, ethanol) was demonstrated using a single nonspecific chemiresistor.

One-step surface doping of organic nanofibers to achieve high dark conductivity and chemiresistor sensing of amines.
High dark electrical conductivity was obtained for a p-type organic nanofibril material simply through a one-step surface doping. The nanofibril composite thus fabricated has been proven robust under ambient conditions. The high conductivity, combined with the intrinsic large surface area of the nanofibers, enables development of chemiresistor sensors for trace vapor detection of amines, with d...

Use of electron-beam induced crosslinking to pattern films of monolayer-protected gold nanoparticles (MPNs) onto a chemiresistor (CR) sensor array is described. Each of the four CRs comprises a 100 µm(2) set of interdigital electrodes (IDEs) with 100 nm widths and spaces, separated from adjacent devices by 4 µm. Films of four MPNs, each with a different thiolate monolayer, were successively pat...

This paper explores the discrimination of organic vapors with arrays of chemiresistors (CRs) employing interface layers of tin-oxide nanowires (NWs) and thiolate-monolayer-protected gold nanoparticles (MPNs). The former devices use contact-printed mats of NWs on micro-hotplate membranes to bridge a pair of metal electrodes. Oxidation at the NW surface causes changes in charge transport, the tem...

متن کاملSelective detection of vapor phase hydrogen peroxide with phthalocyanine chemiresistors.
The use of hydrogen peroxide as a precursor to improvised explosives has made its detection a topic of critical importance. Chemiresistor arrays comprised of 50 nm thick films of metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) are redox selective vapor sensors of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is shown to decrease currents in cobalt phthalocyanine sensors while it increases currents in nickel, copper, and ...
